2015 CARB Survey: Due November 1, 2016. Updated reporting tool and instructions will be issued in July. If we filed the survey on your behalf previously, we will contact you automatically in July. MSDS are now SDS: MSDS are now SDS: Chemical manufacturers, importers, and employers were required to have the MSDS in the new SDS format June 1, 2015. The requirement for Distributors to have SDS was December 1, 2015. Contact us right away if you need GHS compliant SDS authoring. Our pricing and professionalism can't be beat!

California Safe Cosmetics Act: Reportable list of ingredients has been updated.  

CLICK HERE to download the latest list. You must now register, in addition to previously listed items, if your product contains, as an ingredient, Aloe vera whole leaf extract (non-decolorized), beta myrcene, ginko beloba extract, goldenseal root powder, kava extract, n,dimethyl-p-toluidine.

Pending Legislation

COSMETIC REGULATION OVERHAUL - There are two pending bills, one in the House (H.R. 4075) and one in the Senate (S.1014). CLICK HERE for redirection to H.R. 4075 and CLICK HERE for S.1014

California - Pending legislation regarding product labeling and ingredient information that must be provided on the product manufacturer/distributor website (AB 708).

 

MICROBEADS - H.R. 1321, the Microbead-Free Waters Act of 2015 became public law No. 114-114 on December 28, 2015. It amends the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to ban rinse-off cosmetics that contain intentionally-added plastic microbeads beginning on January 1, 2018, and to ban manufacturing of these cosmetics beginning on July 1, 2017. These bans are delayed by one year for cosmetics that are over-the-counter drugs. This law includes federal preemption over any state microbead laws.
